WELCOME
Welcome
to 2008 at Helmsley Arts Centre The big news is that weve got
a handsome new frontage, pictured above, and behind it a wonderful
new rehearsal space, the Dorothy Morley Room, and greatly improved
backstage facilities. So were celebrating with a very special
Spring programme, offering - as ever - something for every taste and
age group. January kicks off with a very distinguished visitor: writer
Sir Max Hastings. On the musical side we present
X-Factor finalists Journey South, international cellist Jamie Walton
and pianists
Philip Martin and Anna Tilbrook. Among old friends we welcome back
John
Petters band with SWonderful, the Mardi Gras Jazz Band,
the Aireborough
Gilbert & Sullivan Society and actor-musician Michael Lunts in
the role of Schubert. Weve got comedy conjuror Ian Keable, housewife
superstar Barbara Nice
and television vet Matt Brash. Weve got our usual superb cinema
programme, with more screening nights than ever before. Book early
- and remember
there are free tickets for under-16s where you see this symbol:
