Lighting control is by means of a 24/48 channel "JANDS EVENT" manual/mamory console operating via DMX into 8 off 6 x 2kW "Zero Betapack 2" dimmer racks, connected over 3 phases of the 415/240 volt AC supply, giving 48 channels of dimming. Each of the dimmer racks is restricted to 8kW by virtue of the 32 amp controlling MCB's, and the system loading is limited to 63 amps per phase, i.e. 15kW per phase, 45kW Total. The Jands console offers computer based control, while maintaining the ease and efficiency of individual channel and memory fader operation, and can be equipped with a monitor. The use of DMX provides soft patching, the ability to control scrollers, moving lights etc. and ease of use anywhere in the auditorium, if required, rather than in the lighting control room. The fixed tubular lighting grid is mounted across the timber roof beams which are approx. 3 metres apart, so as to vform bays corresponding to upstage, midstage, downstage and front of house positions, at a height of approximately 5 metre above the performance area. Each bay equipped with lateral 6 metre x 48mm aluminium alloy pre-wired and/or plain lighting bars and 15 amp socket outlets, all hardwired back to the dimmer position offstage, as follows:
In order to COMPLY with the HSE Safety Requirement of only one electrical phase per lighting bar, each bar is allocated to one phase only, cables must NOT be run between bays and patching at the dimmer position is confined to one phase only. Lantern Stock
