A delicious lunch in the company of Lynne Dawson, who will talk about her life and career as a world-class soprano. Born in York, a student at Easingwold School and with early expectations of becoming a farmer like her parents, Lynne came to singing relatively late, studying at the Guildhall School of Music, and Britten-Pears School, where one of her tutors was Peter Pears. She has performed with major opera companies and orchestras all over the world — and famously sang Libera me from Verdi’s Requiem, with the BBC Singers, at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales. The lunch is a fundraiser, kindly supported by the Friends of HAC taking place at The Forest & Vale Hotel, Pickering.
