The Importance of Being Earnest: A Trivial Comedy for Serious People by Oscar Wilde

1812 Theatre Company

Directed by Mike Martin

Oscar Wilde’s most renowned comedy comes to Helmsley Arts Centre for the first time.  Jack and Algy have many things in common: they are rich, whimsical, in love and highly devious.  Oh, and neither of them is called Ernest Worthing, although it would make life a lot simpler if they were as the objects of their affection claim to only love men named Ernest.
