The 1812 Theatre Company are holding auditions for Alan Ayckbourn's Absent Friends, directed by Duncan Lewis. The production will take place from 20th-23rd October 2021 (5 performances including one matinee and one Q&A with Cast and Crew) at Helmsley Arts Centre.
Absent Friends Synopsis | Cast: 3 male / 3 female (The characters should look, believably, in the following age brackets: Paul, Diana, John, Colin, Marge*: 35 – 40 years, Evelyn: 25 – 30 years *Marge could be a few years older)
Play Reading: Mon 21st June, 7pm
Audition Dates: Thu 1st July 7-9pm or Sun 4th July 11am-1pm.
You need only attend one of the audition dates, please arrive promptly having prepared your audition piece, no prior booking required.
Audition Preparation: Please prepare either a short piece for your chosen character in Absent Friends (2-3 minutes; you may join several sections of speech together if you wish). Alternatively, choose a different character from any Ayckbourn play and perform a short piece for this character (roughly the same age with similar traits to their preferred Absent Friends character). Absent Friends scripts are available to borrow on short loan from Helmsley Arts Centre Box Office.
