“Through the act of looking at - or in the process of making-art, we can find a place of stillness – a calm reflection for our busy minds. We invite you to take a moment to join us in a journey inspired by the energy and serenity of the natural world.”
Ione Harrison is a landscape painter and teacher whose atmospheric images are inspired by North Yorkshire landscapes. By turns dramatic or serene, her art captures the ever-changing light and mood of moor, hill, woodland and coastline. She incorporates rich colours with strong textures to create atmospheric landscape interpretations.
Pamela Thorby is a ceramicist who has swapped her distinguished career in music for a new path in craftsmanship, making and firing her unique wheel thrown and handbuilt ceramics in her own studio. Playing with gesture, rhythm and form, Pamela’s development as a maker continues with recent sculptural and functional work reflecting her improvisational and imaginative abilities.
Ione and Pamela share a studio space and gallery at Nunnington Studios, YO62 5UR, which is open Thursday to Sunday, 10-4, March to December.
Bookable Teaching sessions available throughout the year. Commissions welcome.
