This workshop is suitable for you whether you have some experience of watercolour and would like to explore new techniques, or are a total beginner. Minimal drawing required! The emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and experimentation. After a time to explore colour and practise techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create two atmospheric seascape paintings. You'll explore some fantastic and fun techniques (cling film, wax resist, salt and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting.
What to bring: All materials are provided and included in the price so you just need to bring yourself; an apron and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful.
Lunch is not provided; there are plenty of options nearby, or bring a packed lunch and enjoy sitting in the lovely courtyard garden - weather permitting!
Practicalities: The full address is: Helmsley Arts, Centre, Helmsley. The workshop runs from 10am to approx 3 pm.
