This workshop is suitable for you whether you have some experience of watercolour and would like to explore new techniques, or are a total beginner. Minimal drawing required! The emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and experimentation.
After a time to explore and have a play with colour and techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create an atmospheric painting with a moorland theme. You'll explore some fantastic, fun techniques (cling film, wax resist, salt and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting.
All materials are provided and included in the price so you just need to bring yourself. An apron and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful. If you would like to bring along some sketches or photos of your own to base your painting on then that's of course fine. The workshop runs from 10am to 1pm. Your tutor: Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend an enjoyable, restorative time playing with colour.
