We aim to make your visit a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Please let us know your needs at the time of booking and we’ll do all we can to help.

HAC has a level entrance to the foyer (with an automatic door), level entrance to the Studio Bar (and courtyard garden) and Auditorium, all with wide or double doors. Our accessible toilet is situated directly outside the auditorium doors. 

2 Wheelchair spaces are available to book in the auditorium. For Studio Bar events, there is no fixed seating. Please request a wheelchair space at the time of booking. If you have limited mobility, our Box Office team can advise on the best areas to sit and whether there are any steps to navigate. If you would like a carer/companion seat booking with the wheelchair space, please request this when booking. Wheelchair and carer spaces are bookable directly via our box office 01439 771 700, the carer ticket is free of charge. If phoning is an obstacle, please contact via email [email protected] or in person and we will assist you with your booking. 

We regret that our Dorothy Morley room is upstairs. Due to the nature and age of the building, the room can only be accessed via stairs. This space is primarily used as a rehearsal room, Green room or workshop space. If you’d like further information about this space, please email [email protected] or call 01439 772112

Hearing Enhancement Headphones - Our Jean Kershaw Auditorium uses an infra-red hearing enhancement system. You can collect the headsets from our box office, along with simple instructions.

. Please do this at least 15mins before the event start time to ensure that our staff and volunteers can assist you if you have any issues.

Hearing Loop System - Apologies, we are currently fixing a technical issue with our hearing loop system so personal neck loops are not avaiable until this is resolved   - Our Jean Kershaw Auditorium has a hearing loop. You can request a personal neck-loop from our box office, along with simple instructions. Please do this at least 15mins before the event start time to ensure that our staff and volunteers can assist you if you have any issues.

Subtitles are available for some of our cinema and live screening events. Please contact our box office to enquire if subtitles are available for a specific event and we will do our best to accommodate. 

Assistance Dogs are welcome in all areas of HAC.

For families we offer baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet and have two highchairs in our studio bar. We also have a trolly of art supplies free for use.

Limited Disabled parking is available in HAC’s car park but this must be booked in advance via the box office (01439 771 700). The spaces are available from 45mins before the event start time.
