He’s still highly active and in-demand as a session player, cheering up records by the likes of Olly Murs and Shania Twain lately, and playing to crowds of up to 70,000 with Japanese rock god Eikichi Yazawa, but what brings him the most joy is playing intimate warm friendly venues like Helmsley Arts Centre.
Snake Davis brings his 4 piece band, with guitar, bass guitar and drums. Something for everybody, from floaty to dance-able, from soul, northern soul, through pop to jazz and world, original material and classic sax pieces such as ‘Baker Street’ and ‘Night Train’.
You’ll have heard his solos on tracks such as Lisa Stansfield’s “Change”, M-People’s “Search For A Hero” and “Moving On Up” Klingande’s ‘Jubel’ and Take That “A Million Love Songs”. He has played and recorded with artists ranging from James Brown to Tina Turner to Paul McCartney, The Eurythmics to Amy Winehouse.
Playing the saxophone family as well as flutes, whistles and the ancient Japanese wind instrument, the Shakuhachi, and vocals, it is his total passion and commitment to every note that draws people in.
